"Ustad Shahid Parvez is one of the most important sitar players of his generation. He is the son of Ustad Aziz Khan, the third generation Imdadkhani maestro. He initiated Shahid Parvez into music, vocal and tabla at the tender age of 3. By the age of four he shited to Sitar and was soon recognized as a child prodigy.

A purist from the beginning, Shahid Parvez, has developed a style of his own, combining the Gayaki and the Tantrakari schools of instrument playing. He is now recognized as one of the best sitar players of his generation and is a favourite concert artist both in India and abroad."
