The First Time
There's always a first time for everything so its difficult to express the emotion one feels. For the first time since I graduated with a Bachelors, I woke up today (monday) without a job. As fate would have it, I have always secured employment in one form or another while I was already engaged with something else. AIESEC India while I was still halfway through my final year in college, AIESEC International while I still had 3 months left with AIESEC India, Electrolux while I still had a month left with AI, Globosport while I had an offer of extension from Electrolux.
So how does it feel....
Liberating? - That's worn off now.
Relaxing? - Not in the way I would want.
Exciting? - Strangely, its a muted excitement. Somehow subconsciously I think I saw this coming.
Having returned all my cards, the world seems a vast, cavernous place. I'm not even sure where to begin, let alone know where I am going. What I do see is fresh canvas and plenty of paint. The first outline that was made on May 20th will only now begin to take some form.
A lot of people have showered too many kind words my way. I have to respond individually to them all but a collective 'thank you' is surely in order. So thanks guys. More updates to follow in a few weeks time. For now, trying to differentiate between the preterite & imperfect tenses; as well as understand that the subjunctive is a "mood" and not a "tense" (whatever the hell that means) is taking up most of my brain power.
