Code Red

Having staved off reading the Da Vinci Code for a while now (funnily enough, I don't remember why I decided not to...), the movie is hitting screens in India next weekend and a few of India's 18 Million Roman Catholics seem to be taking a leaf out of Medha Patkar's book... :-)

As a movie buff and huge fan of Tom Hanks, I think I should start a counter protest against these protesters and declare my intentions of going on a protest myself if all of Tom Hanks' movies are not released in India on time! Only...a hunger strike would be hard to fake (as most of them are) without proper support staff in place (all those lackeys you see hanging around the martyr..) I don't have lackeys who will hop over to the nearest dhaba once the cameras are gone to fetch me some sumptuous palak paneer & roti.
But jokes apart, I hope these self proclaimed protectors of the Catholic faith will shut up soon & allow me to watch this movie. C'mon guys you're supposed to be moderate aren't you? We have enough problems as is with the Islamic radicals & their madrassas, the VHP/RSS and their stick weilding antics, the communists & their agitations...enough already! Its not even that Dan Brown has pulled a "how Opal Mehta..." on any of us right? So let Tom Hanks do his stuff.
Note to self: read Da Vinci Code before watching movie.

yes..please read the book. There is quite a bit of stuff that would hurt christian sentiments. However, that doesn't stop me from wanting to see the movie. Btw, its not a great book.
