Feel the buzz
This morning when I checked into my hotel in Bahrain, everything seemed calm, relaxed...palm trees swaying in the cool breeze, it being a Friday most citizens at home enjoying the holy day in peace. However by 4 PM all that begun to change in a hurry...suddenly the hotel lobby was teeming with "Bahrain grand Prix" volunteers all wearing the striking white & blue shirts, dozens of agents, media persons and other VIPs around and of course scores of people all wearing their team shirts...here a whole bunch of white and red Honda technicians, there a gang of blue & white Renault engineers...the black clad Mclaren people walking around...many with "Kimi" hats on....the atmosphere is simply amazing...you can almost slice the expectation in the air with a knife. And Bahrain is chock-a-block with tourists & F1 enthusiasts flooding the hotel rooms. The famous Checkered Flag crossed with the Bahrain Grand Prix flags are seen crossed on every single major thoroughfare in the city. Right from the airport to downtown Bahrain...the flags are fluttering away in the cold desert breeze. One of the volunteers and now reasonably well known dude called Ahmed has warned me that tomorrow the track temperature for us spectators will be at least 40 degrees centrigrade. I wonder how it will be for the drivers....
More news on qualifying tomorrow!
