In a sign of the continued global growth and popularity of women’s professional tennis and young emerging stars such as Sania Mirza and Shahar Peer, the 2006 Sony Ericsson WTA Tour calendar released today includes new tournaments in Bangalore, India and Tel Aviv, Israel. The Bangalore event will be held the week of February 16 and the Anda Open in Tel Aviv will be held the week of October 16.
