Any Wodehouse recommendations?
I just finished Jhumpa Lahiri's "Interpreter of Maladies". A touching, sensitive, intuitive insight through a collection of short stories into the lives of the Indian diaspora, their challenges, their battles and their moments of joy. A brilliant read. It won the Pulitzer in the year 2000. I would recommend this book to:
- Anyone who is remotely Indian; especially Indians living abroad/born abroad or of Indian origin
- Anyone who has known Indians at any point in their lives
A great, great read, especially the last story in the book, " The third continent".
My next read will have to be a PG Wodehouse. Which one I am not sure...I am tempted to go in for the "golf omnibus" but cost is proving to be challenging. Any other suggestions on Wodehouse considering I've never read any of his works?

"Jeeves stories" would not be a bad place to start. "Interpreter of maladies" is a classic; just got done reading her other book "the namesake" which I highly recommend as well.
I read interpreter of maladies some time ago and found it to be pretty good, but not as fabulous as everyone makes it out to be. felt that all the stories had rather abrupt beginnings and endings.....it does build up some interesting perceptions though!
I thought "Interpreter of Maladies" was rather depressing, especially the story about the childless couple! Thought it also suffered from the usual IWE author (Indian-writing-in English) flaw of packaging a lot of the content for a Western audience.
Ahem .. the cost of "The Golf Omnibus" is proving "challenging"?? Hmm me thinks you ought to skip a lunch at that fancy buffet place on Airport Road once and spend that on the book instead ;)
What if i think i'm an indian but i'm not sure... what should i do?
Give up my EU passport? :)))
abhi...P.G was one of my absolute favs...considering your live for cricket and golf--- you have to (and i mean have to) get a hold of 2 of what I consider his most hilarious works:
1. Mike at Wrykyn (for the cricket fanatic)
2. The clicking of cuthberth (for the golf fanatic)
I dont understand golf all that well and have never been that interested, but the clicking of cuthberth is the one thing that will get me anywhere near that game- the stories will have you rolling on the floor.
Enjoy!
The only one of PG Wodewhouse that I've enjoyed was Big Money. So that's a suggestion there.
